Larry A. Sizemore
Larry A. Sizemore passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 with his devoted wife of more than 21 years Lisa next to him, holding his hand and whispering in his ear.
Larry was born and raised in the Mancelona, Michigan area. When he moved to Oakland County he eventually worked as a District Manager for Kroger Stores, he stepped down prior to retiring and worked as a meat-cutter for the organization.
Upon retirement Larry and Lisa were lucky enough to head up-north to a private little lake where he reacquainted his love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed quiet boat rides, was the first one to initiate a round of golf with friends or family. Enjoyed fishing and socializing; basically everything there was to retirement!
On his second day of official retirement Larry and Lisa welcomed a new addition to the family – Max the Black Labrador! Larry and Max went everywhere together – it awakened a newfound spirit in Larry, keeping him young and vibrant.
About 15 years ago Larry and Lisa moved to Montague, Michigan. Here Larry rekindled his wood-working skills and not a family member or neighbor is without one of his specialized birdhouses or Adirondack chairs. He was good with his hands and could fix anything he put his mind to. It was about a year after moving to Montague that circumstances lead to an additional member joining the family –Joey the Black Labrador! Although Larry always said one is enough and even Max grumbled the day Joey joined our trio “we” became four. They are all reunited once again.
Larry’s final requests have been honored and private cremation has taken place. He has requested no service.
He is survived by his wife Lisa A. Sizemore. Four sons: Tim (Donna) Gila Bend, Arizona. Ed (Nancy) Milford, Michigan. Keith Highland, Michigan. Larry M. Traverse City, Michgan. Nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one great grandchild, Braylon.
Memorial contributions in Larry’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a local animal rescue shelter of your choice.
Thinking of you today. I wish I would have known you better. Rest in peace
Praying for you Lisa.

Lisa. I loved every minute with you and Larry.
His beautiful big smile, and big hands waving at me telling me to come in, were the perfect end to my workday. God be with you in the days to come…and I’m grateful for my “Season in the sun” with Larry.
