Kristen Kaye Ryan

Kristen Kaye Ryan (Harms) died peacefully and surrounded by family at home on September 16th in Muskegon, Michigan at the age of 51 after a courageous battle with cervical cancer.

Kristen was born on July 17, 1968 in Muskegon, Michigan. She married Darrin Ryan in 1994. Together they had two children, Kennedy and Lance and two grandchildren Charlotte and Christopher. Kristen would proudly talk about the places she lived throughout her life, from towns on the New England Coast, to back home in Michigan. Wherever she was, she just wanted to be near the water. Her family and friends will remember her as someone who was her happiest when she was listening to the waves at the beach, or at home entertaining and cooking for her family, their friends, and anyone else she could welcome in.

Kristen is survived by her husband Darrin, children Lance (Natalie) and Kennedy (Bryton); grandchildren Charlotte and Christopher.; father Jerry Austin, stepmother, Paula Austin; sister, Angela, and brother, Russell; mother-in-law, Ellen Ryan; brother-in-law, Tom Ryan; sister-in-law, Pat (Brad) McClain. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Harms and father-in-law, William Ryan.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in October.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Kristen’s memory to Foundation for Women’s Cancer  at https://www.foundationforwomenscancer.org/support-us/donate/or You can also mail a donation form with your check or money order (payable to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer) to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer at 230 W. Kristen you will be terribly missed. I’m so grateful for the times that we were able to spend together and listening to all of my woes. You are a good listener and I will always thank you for that. Oh my love until we meet again.

Kristy , my memory of first meeting you was at your birthday party at the goody-goody restaraurant that your gramma Eunice owned and put on the elaborate party for her little princess! You were the love of her life! Other thoughts go to teaching you how to ice skate on Whitelake in your little skating skirt . Camping with Ang and my neices Cindy and Cheryl and on to on…..So many great times and watched you and Darrin get married and holding your hand while Lance was born. Watched you pour your heart and soul into Kennedy’s cheerleading and then came the grand babies who you so loved and adored. I know that everyone here on earth will surely miss you but I know that you’re up there with your mom now and grandma and grandpa and Gary and Gill and all the people that left before you…..even my mom that you checked in on whenever you were on Grand and she loved it and so did I ….thank you Kristy….!
