Kirk J. “Tiny” Bond

On November 24, 1957 Phyllis and Jim Bond gave birth to our father, friend, and companion, Kirk Justin Bond. Kirk “Tiny”, was born and raised in Muskegon, living in Wolf Lake, attending both Orchard View and Oakridge Schools.  In High School, Kirk played football and continued to play after moving to Gaylord, Michigan.  Meeting a lot of new friends that became lifelong friends, Kirk got married in April of 1977 in Gaylord to Audrey Piippo.  Together they had five girls, Alina Bond, Wendy Bond, Stacey Backstorm, Jennifer Bond, and Julie Bond.  Also surviving are his, sister, Denise Lucas; niece, Shyanne; grandchildren, Craig, Logan, Amber, Aaron, Justin, Dana, Ashley, Destiney, Darron; two great-grandchildren, Makala, and Michael; former wife, Dorothy Bond; girlfriend, Betty Vandam.  Kirk was a very strong, and stubborn man.  But if we ever needed a shoulder during the last 20 years, he was always there for us.  He was a jack of all trades, from working on the farm to driving truck.  He was a volunteer fire fighter for East Mullet Fire Department.  He enjoyed hunting, camping, two-tracking and always had fun with both family and friends.  Kirk has been in recovery for an extended period of time, almost 14 years sober.  It took a toll on his health.  H was a strong man that would do anything he could for his family.  Kirk Justin Bond passed away on January 4, 2020 at Mercy Hospital.  He was a great man. He rests in peace now and will never be forgotten. Thank you in advance to all those that will be sharing all your prayers, very, very much appreciated.
