Jeffrey Adam Jasicki

Mr. Jeffrey A Jasicki, age 73, passed away on Friday November 15, 2019 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 24, 1946 to Raymond and Genevieve (Hronek) Jasicki.  He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central and attended Michigan Technological University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He worked at Neway Division and at S D Warren where he retired in 2005.  On April 15, 1977, he married Eileen Witkop, and they spent 36 years together before she passed away on December 17, 2013.  Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, softball, casinos, and music.  He played fast pitch softball and was one of the best pitchers in the Muskegon area. He played for several teams in the Muskegon area including G&J Market and Burger Chef. He was known as “Burger Chef Jeff.”  During his college days, he also played for Bosch Brewery in Houghton, Michigan and played in several tournaments in the UP and Northern Wisconsin.  His greatest love, however, was music. He played guitar, and later on played electric bass. While in college, he played in a band along with his brother.  After college, he played for many years with Ray J and the Four J’s, a band consisting of his father, his brother, Jerry Bates, Doug Cross, Dick Strang Jr, and occasionally his Nephew Raymond. After his father died, he formed another band called the Classic Country Cats.  Jeff was one of the most versatile guitar players in the area. He played everything from Rock to Polkas to Country to Church music.  He played music at several area churches for many years and would often play at more than one service almost every weekend. He enjoyed more of the contemporary style of church music. Jeff also had a special friend, Bill Kennedy, his steel guitar player. They spent many hours together after Jeff’s wife, Eileen, passed away. Bill passed away in October of this year. Survivors include, his “Papa’s” Daughter, Lorra(Jim) Schippers,  his Brother “Benny” Raymond (Linda) Jasicki, five Grandchildren,  Kaeleen (Ben) Gillette, Jeffersonville, IN, Aaron Smith, Wesley (Amber)  Schippers, Travis (Krista) Schippers, Daniel (Trisha) Schippers; ten Great Grandchildren, and his Godson Raymond Jasicki II (Karen), Eau Claire, WI. and other family and friends. Jeff was the best friend a person could have and I’m glad he was my father’s (Bill Kennedy) best friend. They loved to drive around (sometimes to my place), eat by the lake, cook for each other and play their music. Thank you Jeff for everything you did for my dad and thank you, Ray and Linda, for everything you did. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Jeff picked my bother and I when we attended Muskegon Catholic Central. I loved his band especially the polka music and the 50 snd 60 songs. May you rest in pease!

Jeff had a great love for his faith, his family, and his music. Lorra, Kaeleen, and Aaron, he was so proud of you and loved you very much. We shared many good times with Jeff and Eileen over the years. We hold those memories close to our hearts. He was a great brother-in-law and we will miss him. RIP Jeff.
