Geralyn M. Mulready
On Sunday, March 31. 2019, Geralyn (Gera) Smith Mulready joined her loving husband, Patrick (Mo) Mulready., as one of the Heavenly Angels! With her wonderful laugh and sense of humor she was welcomed with open arms. Gera and Mo are now with each other for all eternity. Her father, Otto Smith, Sr., and brother Otto (Chip) Smith, Jr., also welcomed her into their heavenly home, one to protect her and one to argue with her!
Gera was a devoted and kind daycare provider with the patience of Job! She loved her “daycare” kids like they were her own, playing, doing crafts, laughing, crying, and feeding them! She remained friends with the “daycare” kids throughout their adult years.
Gera also worked at Mr. Steak for several years as a waitress making several lasting friendships. She also worked at Sinterest with her very good friends, Connie and Kurt Lubbens. As a Viking member, she was a former Junior Adviser, again working with kids.
Gera was born in Muskegon, Mi., on Mother’s Day May 13, 1962. She came into this world on a Sunday and left on a Sunday, just like her brother Chip, both being born on Mother’s Day!
On May 23, 1987, Gera and Mo were joined together in holy matrimony. They were blessed with the arrival of their three girls, Meaghan (Jen) Mulready, Marine Sgt. Mackenzie Mulready, and Mollee Mulready. One of Gera’s greatest thrills was the arrival of her two grandchildren, Patrick Otto Mulready in 2018, and Rynlee Maurine Mulready in 2019.
Gera leaves behind her to honor her memory, her children, grandchildren, mother, Althea Curow Smith, three brothers, Victor (Laura), Edward (Sheila), and Andrew (Kim) Smith, special friends, the Alan Carson family, Paul and Gina Burnip, two sister-in-laws, Karen Mulready and Kathy (Howard) Usher, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her special furry friend, Bella.
Gera was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick (Mo) Mulready, father, Otto Smith, Sr., her brother, Otto (Chip) Smith, Jr., in laws, Vivian (Pat) Mulready and Connie Mulready, as well as several extended family members.
There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Gera on Sunday, April 28, 2019, from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm at the Viking Lodge, 3132 Lakeshore Dr., Muskegon.
