Douglas Lee Ransom Sr.

Douglas L. Ransom Sr. age 71 was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on April 5, 1949 to the late Elwyn G and Dorothy C. (Koern) Ransom and passed away on June 12, 2020. Doug is survived by his son Doug Ransom Jr.; two sisters, Becky (Dan) Bowden and Polly (Don) Burnside; sister-in-law, Jackie Ransom; close friend, Candi McLeod.  Along with his parents Doug was preceded in death by a son Andy Ransom; and a brother, Glenn Dewey Ransom.  Doug enjoyed being outdoors especially kayaking.  According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice.

    Was tickled to have found Doug on Facebook… Enjoyed hearing about his adventures kayaking and his beautiful pics. Doug and I go way back to Jr. High. I even had a crush on him! So sad we have come to the age losing our friends and classmates. He will be missed, but oh the running and kayaking he’ll do! My sincere condolences to family, friends and fellow Lancers!     My acquaintance with Doug goes back to 1964, good ole Lakeshore HighSchool, FFA, Parliamentary Procedure and mr Wilson. I had a nice talk with Doug a couple weeks ago. RIP Doug, miss your stories on email.

    Very sorry to hear about Doug’s passing my heart goes out to the family and I remember spending a couple summers going to the beach with him many years ago.
