Obituary

Lula I. Hichue of Egelston Township was born in Coopersville on January 11, 1920 to the late Charles and Evadeen (Fairbrother) Wolverton and went to be with her Lord and Savior and join her family on September 10, 2014. Lula was preceded in death by her husband, M.L. “Huck” Hichue; two sons, Arlyn and Alfred; two brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by four sons, Darry (Carolyn), Aaron (Diane), Karry, Rex (Beulah Thompson); two daughters-in-law, Britt and Penny; eighteen grandchildren including, Tracy (Bob) Marshall, Janice (Chuck) Sorenson, Jeff (Stacy) Hichue, Jennifer (Tony) Harper, Jeff Jackson, Shawn (Tom) Phillips, Scott (Kaleigh Stuk) Hichue, Tim (Laura) Hichue, Paul (Melissa) Hichue, Daniel (Brandyce) Hichue, Kari (Trevor) Garlock, Matt Hichue, Brandin Hichue, Larry Schaub, and Ben Schaub; Numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Lula loved flowers and gardening. She was an avid BINGO player at Christian Care Senior Care, and enjoyed crafts, baking, knitting and crocheting. One of her greatest joys was burger night with her family. She always sent out birthday cards to her family even at age 94. She had been a member of TOPS and the Ladies Aide group at Grace Bible Church Ministries. Lula’s family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff at Christian Care Senior Care and to Senior Resources for the wonderful care given to Lula during the past four years. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, 2270 S. Mill Iron Road, on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Activity Fund at Christian Care Senior Care.
