Obituary for Ronald P. PoortBorn: October 27th, 1956
Passed Away: April 22nd, 2017
ObituaryRon was born on Saturday, October 27, 1956 to the late Richard and Pauline (Bringedahl) Poort in Muskegon and passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Muskegon. Ron was a hard worker, working for 20 years of his career at L-3 Communication as a Metallurgical Technician and retired from there. Ron loved music and was in a band in his younger years. He was a talented guitarist and continued to play and sing whenever he could. He also loved his family, fishing, sports, and traveling, especially to the Upper Peninsula.
Ron was a brilliant man; he could fix anything, and if he didn’t know right away, he researched and figured it out. He taught himself computers by trial and error, crashing the system, reloading it, research, crashing it again, reloading it, and ended up being the go-to computer guy for family and friends. Ron was a very generous man who freely gave of his time and talents.
After years of struggling with COPD, he’s breathing much better now.
Ron is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Jared (Lindsay Dahl) of Fruitport, grandchildren Bailey and Abigail; daughter, Rachelle (Pete) Rodriguez of Austin, TX, grandchildren Keagan, Parker, Brooklyn, Emilio and Olivia.
The family would like to express profound gratitude to Harbor Hospice of Muskegon.
