Obituary

Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Ringelberg, age 96, entered everlasting life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, January 13, 2017. Betty was born on April 9, 1920 to the late Siert and Winifred (Buikema) Spyke. She lived in Muskegon all her life. On April 4, 1942 she married the late Henry “Hank” Ringelberg. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Daryl (Tom) Nederveld and Lynn (Jeff) Balaskovits; daughter-in-law, Doreen Ringelberg; brother, Louis Spyke; seven grandchildren, Tim, Mark and Steven Nederveld, Scott Ringelberg, Leah Duplissis, Lindsey Ketner and Matt Balaskovits; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by her wonderful son, H. James “Jim” Ringelberg; her sisters Mildred (Robert) Peterson and Louise (Leo) Allen; brother, William Spyke, along with sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Betty was a faithful follower of Jesus, a devoted wife, an incredible mom, grandma and great-grandma, a wonderful sister, a caring aunt, and a dear friend to many. She enjoyed being with her family and her love for them was immeasurable.

Betty worked as the secretary of Hile School for many years and was a member of the Grand Haven First Christian Reformed Church. Funeral Services will be held at Shoreline Memorial Services Chapel, on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 12:00 noon. Pastor Tom Pettinga officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Muskegon Rescue Mission or the charity of the donor’s choice.
