Obituary for Margaret Bernice Angell

Mrs. Margaret Angell age 89 passed away on Sunday Jan. 3, 2016 at Hillcrest Nursing Home located in North Muskegon. She was born Nov. 14, 1926 to Eric and Elizabeth (Majarus) Seaberg of Grand Haven. The former Margaret Seaberg married

Leon J. Angell on Aug. 9, 1947 in Grand Haven. They had three daughters Sandi, Debbie and Linda. Leon preceded Margaret in death May 5,1990 and Sandi Gillings their eldest daughter on June 21, 2009 and recently son in law Doug DeHaan Dec. 31, 2015. Margaret and Leon were the former owners of the Colonial Kitchen Restaurant in Grand Haven. Margaret was an active member of the united Methodist Church of the Dunes in Grand Haven and was very well known for her cooking for luncheons, dinners,the Kiwanis organization and was well known for her cinnamon rolls that she often made for the church bazaars which were gone within the first hour. Margaret enjoyed sewing, camping, bowling, walking and riding her bike because she never drove a car.

Family was very important to her and she was always there for her three daughters even if it meant giving up something she was doing for herself. Margaret worked at the Christian Haven Home in Grand Haven as the Head Cook for more than 35 years and at 83 she was still working one or two day a week. Finally in 2009 she retired from the Home. She was a long time resident at Pinewood Place in Grand Haven until 2014 when she moved into Christian Senior Care Assisted living. Then on October 29, 2015 she moved into Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Deb (Warren) Dykhouse of Muskegon and Linda DeHaan of Grand Rapids. Four grandchildren Elizabeth (Liz), Colbi, Darren, Dykhouse and Crystal Brady.Four great grandchildren Ella, Arya, William and Finley. Margaret was preceded in death by her brother Bob Seaberg and her sister Helen Angell. Survivors are sisters Florence Newman of Grand Haven and Carol Robbins of Grand Haven and Brother Pete (Pat) Seaberg of Spring Lake.

The Celebration of her Life will be held at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes 717 Sheldon Rd. in Grand Haven Saturday January 23, 2016 visitation with family at 2:00 prior to the service at 3:00. Fellowship and luncheon will follow the Celebration of Life.
